Research Emphasis
My research in insect pathology focuses on the biology of entomopathogens, host-pathogen interactions, developmental cycles and host specificity of entomopathogenic microsporidia, epizootiology of insect diseases, microbial control, and disease issues in beneficial insects and insect colonies. I work in several host systems that have recently included the pests: gypsy moth, Asian long-horned beetle, and black vine weevil; and beneficial host species including bumble bees, lubber grasshoppers, and beetle predators of the hemlock woolly adelgid.
